Session type Talk (45 minutes)
Long Abstract TYPO3 certification serves several purposes, ensuring service quality for customers hiring TYPO3 professionals, giving those professionals a way of presenting themselves, and communicating a high level of professionalism for the entire TYPO3 project. So far over 1000 individuals carry the title "Certified TYPO3 Integrator". What are the next steps for the TYPO3 certification program?

In 2013 the certification system will switch to computer based exams offered by Pearson VUE. This will allow for global coverage concerning exam opportunity and immediate feedback for exam attendees whether they passed or not. Certification validity (time based vs. version linked) has been an issue lately and the talk will make an argument for the new validity system. Finally a new certification for developers is on its way. It will cover the huge domain of professional work with TYPO3 not covered by the Integrator role. The talk will present detailed information about all these topics.
